Dodgers’ Clayton Kershaw raises $85,000 to aid those impacted by COVID-19

first_imgA pair of organizations that provide meals to those in need will receive a total of around $85,000 as the beneficiaries of a two-week fundraising campaign from Clayton Kershaw’s foundation, the organization announced on Wednesday.Kershaw’s Challenge, which is led by Kershaw and his wife Ellen, raised money and personally matched the donations to contribute to the Dream Center in Los Angeles and Behind Every Door in Dallas.The Dream Center is serving 13,000 meals a day to those in need during the coronavirus crisis. Behind Every Door is distributing boxes containing basic food essentials to families in need.“This campaign has been such an awesome surprise,” Kershaw said in a statement. “We really wanted to figure out a way to address the immediate needs of a couple of our beneficiaries who are serving families due to COVID-19. It has been incredible to see the swell of support from so many people. Our season—baseball and Kershaw’s Challenge—has been far from ordinary.
