Highest winds of spring 2019 recorded in Donegal

first_imgMet Eireann has revealed that the highest wind speeds of spring 2019 were recorded in Malin Head.Ireland’s most northernly point saw the worst of Storm Gareth at the beginning of March. Damaging gusts of 70 knots (130 km/h) were registered at the Malin Head station on 12th March. This was the highest reading in the country between March, April and May.Malin Head also recorded the highest mean wind speeds of 15.0 knots (27.8 km/h) throughout the three months. The latest Spring report from Met Eireann showed that Cork enjoyed the highest average sunshine of the season.
